[WSBARP] LT question - sex offender handyman

A friend just moved to Washington and is renting a house in Snohomish
county. The landlord did not disclose to her or her husband that the handy
man is a registered sex offender who raped a woman many years ago.

My friend is unhappy that the landlord did not disclose this fact, is very
uncomfortable with the situation, and asked me if that non-disclosure could
be grounds for them to get out of their year lease.

I've not come across this situation before and was hoping someone might
have some insight.

Thanks,
Anthony
