[Vision2020] Say What?

Goodness, Tom . . . no apologies necessary! I completely agree with your question to “Blake Law” in your original post! The quote from “Blake Law” from Wilson’s blog had plenty to cause offense even though Paul chooses not to see it.

Can’t you just see all those “Godly” types chuckling about the joke that pokes at both women and gays in the military? Thank God I’ve got a strong stomach or I’d be puking from the hatred.

Pardon me while I try to shower the disgust off my body . . . I made the mistake of clicking on the link in your first post for context. It’s a natural reaction of mine to shower filth off whenever I come into contact with it, which is always the case when I visit Wilson’s blog. <shiver>

My apologies, Saundra.

I overlooked the obvious. My initial attention was drawn to the undue criticism of homosexual soldiers. Mr. Law's closing words reflect heavily on his sexist attitude as well as the "church" that share that attitude.

In the words of Pricilla Mondt . . .

"When we begin to fulfill our responsibility in the church, displaying interest in the life of the organization, clergywomen will be entrusted with more responsibility and more visible leadership roles. As God leads women in the Assemblies of God into higher leadership positions, a road will be paved for others to follow."

Actually, Paul, you completely missed the point, which was the ***female***
Army chaplain, not "sinners."

Those in that subset don't think that women should be chaplains, pastors . .
. or sit on school boards.

The point you miss that Blake Law was making is that *neither* belong in the
military according to those in Wilson's World or that "subset of
Christians."

Easy to miss the point when one works oh, so hard to make excuses for the
inexcusable rather than taking people at their word.

I'm not a theologian by any means, but if this chaplain is of a subset of
the Christian religion then they believe that *everyone* is a sinner. It's
human nature, it's why Jesus was required to come down to Earth, etc. So
this chaplain was not saying (as her quote could sound) that she would treat
a homosexual as one of those other sinners, like rapists, murderers, or
whatever. She's saying that she would treat them like anyone else,
basically.

People more versed in Christian theology, feel free to show me to be wrong
on this.

Question, Mr. Law: How many "sinners" do you figure are buried at

Arlington? Or listed on the Vietnam Memorial Wall?
