Our monthly telephonic meeting of the Construction Law Committee will begin at 11:30AM tomorrow, Monday, with business first and then our CLE presentation beginning at noon or as soon as the business portion of our meeting is concluded.

Our CLE Presenter is Paul McCullough from SEA.  He will share a presentation with us via telephone and live webinar titled "Going Vertical."  We'll circulate the link for the webinar between 11:15AM and 11:30AM.  If tech aspects go according to plan, we'll use the video link for the business portion of the meeting as well.

Paul provides the following summary of his talk:

This presentation is intended to educate the attorney on construction management and construction methodologies. The project planning process will be covered with attention to the procedures that are used in creating a work breakdown structure to facilitate cost
estimating, budgeting, scheduling, trade coordination, and identifying risks to the project. Project management tools such as activity lists, network diagrams, and Gantt Charts will be reviewed. The site and building construction phases will be reviewed in addition to the
inspection process. The construction sequence associated with multi-family wood/concrete construction will be reviewed. The extent of work required for "rough-in" inspections, final inspections, and certificate of occupancies will be reviewed with consideration for evaluating sub-contractor scope compliance. Contract close-out phases and an overview of lien releases and certifications will be addressed.
