[WSBARP] Corporate Name Change

The problem arises when we search the records of the secretary of state for the old name.
For instance a deed can be found into “Mt Rainier Council, Boy Scouts of America”
A search of that name at the Secretary of State will get no results.
When I search “Pacific Harbors Council, Boy Scouts of America” I can find the articles of merger showing that Mt. Rainier Council has changed it’s name to Pacific Harbors Council.
So after a passage of time we need to know the new name in order to find the records at the Secretary of State.

Subject: Re: [WSBARP] Corporate Name Change

I would hope that updated filings would be available to any abstractor providing title to a competent examiner would have access to those documents showing a change of name. Moreover, as the Nonprofit would have documents in their possession at the time of the sale, it should be a non-factor. Still as a "belt and suspenders" if you wanted to file the name change with your local court/register of deeds, it couldn't hurt.

Nonprofit 1 owns real property. Nonprofit 1 then formally changes its name (and name only) to “Nonprofit 2” by filing with the Secretary of State. Does anything need to be done, title-wise, to make it clear to everyone in the world that the real property is owned by Nonprofit 2?
I think I’ve been overthinking this one.
