<p class="MsoNormal">The problem arises when we search the records of the secretary of state for the old name.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">For instance a deed can be found into “Mt Rainier Council, Boy Scouts of America”<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">A search of that name at the Secretary of State will get no results.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">When I search “Pacific Harbors Council, Boy Scouts of America” I can find the articles of merger showing that Mt. Rainier Council has changed it’s name to Pacific Harbors Council.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">So after a passage of time we need to know the new name in order to find the records at the Secretary of State.
