[WSBARP] Residential Lease Question

Hopefully your friend provided legally effective notice when he "informed the landlord that the lease would not renew thereafter.” If not, and she holds over in default of lease, he could face liability. If he did not give proper notice, he should do so now and be prepared to pay an additional month’s rent to make sure GF’s occupancy does not come back to bite him.

If he is not in the free and clear, a mediated conversation among all parties would be a good way to sort out the situation.

It would be helpful to see the lease and ask questions...

My friend paid the lease through to the end of the lease period, informed the landlord that the lease would not renew thereafter, and has moved out; he terminated his relationship with the girlfriend at the same time.
