[WSBARP] possession after a sheriff's sale

Even if the debtor cannot claim a homestead exemption against an execution sale, the debtor can probably still claim it to assert a right of possession during the redemption period. See RCW 6.23.110(4) and Washington Practice, vol. 28, § 7.22.

There are some pretty compelling arguments that this should not be the case, however.
