[WSBAPT] Trouble Getting Letters Testamentary

Yes - I have had the experience where it has taken multiple days and then I
will file something ex parte via the clerk and get it back the same day.

I have two stories from this month alone.

Story #1 - Order was received and entered into the docket. Letter issued.
I confess that I did not actually scroll to the bottom of the order when I
was saving it to my own file to verify that it was signed.....six days
later I got an email - a new order was entered and new letters
issued.....the order was never signed by the Judicial Officer and just put
through and letters issued by the Clerk (apparently they didn't scroll to
verify signature, either). Now my docket reads 1-6, 9.......they literally
removed Docket Entry 7 and 8.

Story #2 - A judicial officer signed an order opening probate on Friday,
February 13th - but it was after 4:30 p.m. Because Monday was a holiday, I
waited until February 19th to write and ask about my Letters. I had checked
the docket at noon before sending my query asking if it had gotten lost. I
DID get a response email that late afternoon saying - ostensibly - I don't
know what your problem is Brent, the Letters are right there on the docket
- I can see them!

Moral - the Clerk's office are staffed by humans. Sometimes mistakes are
made. Sometimes delays happen. I just try to smile my way through it but
never take my foot off the gas.

I think you will eventually get a response to your email and it may be
telling you that the Letters are there and ready to be pulled.
