[WSBAPT] Recording catch-22

Good afternoon,
My client is trying to revoke a prior DPOA, executed in 1998. This DPOA only allows revocation to be effective if recorded in King County. One financial institution is refusing to accept the new DPOA unless it specifically revokes the prior DPOA and is recorded. However, the original DPOA itself was never recorded, so King County has rejected the revocation because the recording number of the document being revoked was not included.
Any ideas for how to get around this problem? Recording the original DPOA just to revoke it feels like an expensive workaround.
Thanks,
Anna
