[WSBAPT] King County probate procedural question

Has there been any communication with the attorney on the other side. While I can’t say whether you are required to file a response ahead of time, I would hate to be the attorney blindsided by you showing up to object, with no idea it was coming.

Subject: [WSBAPT] King County probate procedural question

Listmates --

I have a client who received notice of an ex parte hearing on a petition to open a probate. My client is the decedent's spouse and wants to oppose the filer's petition. As I read the ex parte and probate rules, I do not have to file a response before the hearing. Is that correct? I am preparing a response to present at the hearing, but do I file it in advance, too?
