[WSBARP] Digest Alternative

Hi all:

For those of you who have tried the new list “digest” option you have seen
that you receive a single message at the end of the day that includes in
one e-mail a string of all of the day’s messages – together with a lot of
HTML coding (which makes it very difficult to read the messages). We have
tried to see if we could get it to deliver in a different format, but with
no luck.

The Section will be looking at other alternatives for our lists, but that
project will take a little time. If you would like to structure your
e-mail so that the list messages don’t clutter your in-box throughout the
day (and you are having trouble with the new digest format), I recommend
that you create a new e-mail folder for the list messages, and create a
“rule” in your e-mail program to move all list messages to the new list
folder. That way you can look at those messages when you want, and they
won’t be cluttering up your regular in-box. You can then go back to
“standard” delivery rather than digest delivery.

If you use Outlook 2010, this is what you do:

Create New List Message Folder

Click on the folder tab at the top of the Outlook page.

Next, click on the New Folder item. A dialogue box will pop up, letting
you select a name for the new folder.

Create a Rule to Move Messages

The easiest way is to open a message you received from the list.

In the Message tab, find the Rules item and click on it.

Select the “Always move messages to: <mailto:wsbapt at lists.wsbarppt.com>
wsbapt at lists.wsbarppt.com OR wsbarp at lists.wsbarppt.com”

You will then get a dialogue box asking where you want the messages to be
moved to

Select the new folder you created above

For most systems that should do it. Because all systems are a little
different, you should as your IT person for help if needed.

Cheers,

Doug
