“Religious Shield Laws & Children’s Rights” forum to address childhood
deaths in Idaho as a result of religious shield laws and faith healing.

The free public forum will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 6:00 pm at the
1912 Center in Moscow, Idaho.

Idaho is one of the few states that has religious exemptions codified in child neglect and protection statutes, that result in some areas of Idaho having a childhood death rate ten times higher than the rest of the state, according to a report by The Governor's Task Force On Children at Risk. The Moscow Human Rights Commission will be presenting an education forum with two speakers, Linda Martin and Shaakirrah Sanders, to discuss the intersection of religious freedom, childhood rights, and parental responsibility.
