[Vision2020] Green Barrels

 There are bigger problems in our world, but the huge green single steam recycling barrels and grey trash containers littering our streets do nothing for the aesthetics of our town. What used to be pleasant tree lined streets have taken on a trashy industrialized motif. People used to haul out those small recycling tubs once a week which were not so obtrusive. Now people are leaving the barrels on the curb or in their front yards and filling them there. The recycling barrels, which are large and bright, are particularly distasteful. I doubt the city council foresaw this devaluation of the look of our city when they decided to go this route. Roger Hayes
