I'm not sure what "lie" you think you have caught me in. I suspect it
manifests itself only in your mind and as such I'll simply move on.

Citing Matt 26:52 from various and sundry different translations does
nothing to bolster the argument that it can be applied in any way to the
current discussion over firearms. If the passage you cite were to be taken
literally as you imply, Jesus would be in absolute error. Many people "live
by the sword." Police, security guards, soldiers, professional hunters, and
just plain people who are firearms enthusiasts all live by the sword, most
do not die by it.

Let's, for the sake of expediency, assume that the passage means exactly
what you are trying to say it means. Thank you for the heads up, I'll take
my chances, now go pound sand. As someone who has been a major proponent of
church/state separation, I have to wonder why you even bring a bible
passage into the discussion no matter how poor your understanding of it.
