[Vision2020] Hypocrisy (was RE: September 11th Memorial Events)

Jim Wilson may appear to be the nicest old codger in the world.

When he advocates that a father be given custody of a child the father sexually molested, he has removed himself from most people's, but apparently not yours, respect and admiration. Such advocacy would hardly be characterized as "caring" by most parents and normal folk.

You, of course, are entitled to use "caring" in the manner you choose; don't bee surprised if others look at you askance when you use the word in such a way.

I hope the world is not overly peopled by those you find to be "honest and "caring."

Don't take my description of what I've seen of his character as an endorsement of whatever decisions he has made as an official in his church. He and I don't share the same religious views or value systems.

I can say that he struck me as an honest and caring individual every time I've met him. Take that for what it' worth. Maybe somebody, somewhere, might find that information useful.

You know, it is possible to find good qualities in someone as well as bad ones. It's also possible that someone might do something they think is right according to one value system that looks wrong when viewed in light of another one.

Do you think it's possible that he has some admirable qualities, or is he some bastardized combination of Kim Jong-Il, Jeffrey Dahmer, and Charlie Sheen all rolled into one?

Yes, Jim Wilson is your kind of guy -- "regular" just like you described Douglas Wilson, who imported for us Jamin Wight, Steven Sitler, et al -- just a "regular" bunch of predators on the under aged, but only just down to two-year-olds in Sitler's case.

Aren't all churches, all across the country, tax exempt?

I don't know what you're referring to when you say he lied under oath, so I really can't comment on it.

Anyway, my apologies for noticing the guy's positive qualities.

If he thinks a certain way about something, it's because that's his honest interpretation from reading his Bible.”

Huh – you must know a different Jim Wilson than do I because I personally don’t give a rip how “nice” or “respectful” someone may be if honesty & integrity are lacking, as is the case with Jim Wilson wanting a free tax ride & expecting government – which means you & me -- to pay for his ride. My friends will remember how completely shocked & disappointed I was that Wilson had no difficulty being dishonest under oath. Pathetic.

Personally, I don’t think it’s OK to be disingenuous – at best – just to stick the rest of us with CCM’s tax bill, and I don’t think God thinks it’s OK, either. Lying, cheating, stealing – or being intentionally obtuse -- are OK as long as long as you’re ripping off those who don’t share a particular faith, eh? Not in my faith, and not in my world, it isn’t.

Hypocrisy is hypocrisy is hypocrisy, and we know that it pains you, Paul, but it’s even more reprehensible when it comes from so-called “religious leaders” like Jim Wilson.
