[Vision2020] Detainee Transfer Annouced

Hi Roger,
I don't have the FBI estimates at my fingertips of how many innocents were locked up in Gauntanomo, but they are very high. Our prisons create more violent criminals by locking up drug offenders. Just think of how many new terrorists we produced by torturing innocent people in Cuba and other unnamed torture centers throughout the world.
Read my column on U.S. torture at www.home.roadrunner.com/~nickgier/torture.htm
The 100th birth centenary of Ronald Reagan is coming up and I have some new charges against him, but one thing that should be said in his favor is that he signed with great pride the latest Geneva Conventions on Torture, which as a treaty became not only international law but U.S. law as well.
The shame of Bush's Iraq War and his War on Terror will haunt our memories for decades.

The numbers of recidivists seems to vary, depending on the source and the
political point the author wishes to make. You can find accounts at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_of_former_Guantanamo_Bay_detainees_alleged_to_have_returned_to_terrorism
The estimated percentages range from 14% to 25%, a better rate than criminals
released from U.S. prisons (60%).
It does appear that being released from Gitmo and taking up the fight again is
not conducive to long life--of course, being killed or re-captured is a the only
sure means of identifying continued insurgency.

Roger Falen suggested:
"Please do some research on how many of those that have been released from
Guantanamo are now back working with some terrorist organization."
You're jokin', right Roger.
I mean . . . GET REAL!
It's not like these guys post announcements to their Facebook pages like .
. .
"Me and the guys are back together and thinkin' of goin' to Bovill and
blowin' somethin' up. If interested, meet us at A&W for a Slurpie."
This is something that the CIA would be tracking.
