The "Moscow Cares" website has been updated to include videos and
committee reports of the following segment from the February 22, 2011
Moscow City Council session.

The Sanitation Strategic Plan

The Sanitation Department has developed a Strategic Plan as a guidance
document for the Department working toward the future. The plan addresses
services and programs, identifies corrective measures and potential
improvements to the inefficiencies regarding solid waste collection,
facility and infrastructure improvements and future revenue requirements.
The document includes an analysis (SWOT) which examined the Strengths,
Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats regarding infrastructure, contracts,
services and programs administered through the Sanitation Department as
they presently exist. This analysis emphasized characteristics of the
sanitation system in which to build upon, and improve existing and future
performance. The Sanitation Strategic Plan has been presented to the
Sustainable Environment Commission at the December 15 meeting, with follow
up and endorsement by the Commission at the January 18 meeting. This was
reviewed by the Public Works/Finance Committee on February 14, 2011.
