Subject: Weber Bio

Shouldn't Weber's bio on the City of Moscow website be updated?

John Weber

In November of 2005 John was elected to a four year term on the City Council. John is a lifelong resident of Moscow and graduated from Moscow High School and the University of Idaho. He has a Masters of Business Administration and is employed as a project manager here in Moscow. In his free time, John enjoys working on his Corvette and in the warmer weather is an avid golfer.

Isn't he no longer a project manager, but a bartender at the Corner Club?

Mr. Fox:

Thank you for your observation. I will contact John Weber to see if he wishes to update his information.

The above exchange took place after Weber was no longer a project manager for Rich Beebe.

Weber did not correct his official biography on the City of Moscow website after it was pointed out that he was no longer a project manager, but a bartender at The Corner Club.

Continuing to claim to be a project manager when one is not is a misleading lie. The lie continues to this day: http://www.moscow.id.us/council/MeetCouncil.asp

Continuing to claim being a project manager is more impressive than admitting the truth about being a bartender at one of Moscow's less upscale bars. There is nothing wrong with being a bartender; however such an occupation is not a very good recommendation for being mayor for a city the size of Moscow. There is something very wrong about Weber lying to Moscow citizens about continuing to be a project manager to falsely pump up his political resume. He lied about the Hawkins matter. How many other official lies has he told?

[And do you not find it curious that Rich Beebe does not appear as an endorser on Weber's website? http://www.weber-mayor.com/weber-mayor_005.htm And don't some of the other names on the list of endorsements of Weber set off some really loud alarm bells?]

Poor John is a pathetic case. Had he chosen to give up alcohol 30 years ago, he would now probably be an exemplary citizen with honorable political qualifications and would not have to lie, and probably would not act like the village nitwit in city council meetings.

Weber was quoted in the Daily News as saying he wanted to "sell Moscow." He was probably reprimanded by the GMA gods for so stupidly and blatantly revealing their goals.

But poor pathetic John is in the minor leagues of lying and being a sneak when it comes to some other current GMA endorsed candidates.

For example, Walter Steed is a demonstrated sneak and liar.

Why do you think the Idaho House Conservation and Resources Committee unanimously rejected his first bill to sell water to Hawkins? And the Idaho House Leader refused to even pass his second bill to committee? And even if the second bill had been sent to committee, it would have not been given a hearing?

This is why:

Steed lied to the house committee during his live testimony and afterward. He got caught lying big time. The committee was given documentary evidence demonstrating his lies. Steed's lies even so turned off one extreme free market representative that even he voted against it, although he was very in favor of it before the lies rained down.

Steed lied from the beginning about the Hawkins deal. He convinced four of the Hawkins Five (all GMA approved) to spend money and Moscow city staff resources even after Hawkins drilled their own wells and were clearly not interested in Moscow water, and after it was clear that the Hawkins agreement was void ab initio, and thus unenforceable.

I wouldn't trust these GMA endorsees to run a charity bingo game, let alone a city.

  Wayne:

His moscow.com bio may need updating. But, he can still claim the
experience as a project manager, regardless of why he is no longer in
that position. Why is adding a part-time barkeep position so
  important to you?

Personal example: I resigned from a past position due to major
ideological differences with management. None the less, I can still
claim the experience of having done that job.
