Tom,

As to the baggie of a mysterious substances in the trunk, Ockham's razor
applies:

“The simplest  solution is most likely the correct solution."


And although a lot of folks might disagree, it like the question, "What do
you do if while out hunting, you accidentally kill a bald eagle?" the 3
S's apply: Shoot, Shovel, Shut Up!
