The following U.S. service members died while supporting combat operations
in Afghanistan, confirmed by the Defense Department from December 18, 2009
through December 24, 2009:

Army  Staff Sgt. David H. Gutierrez, 35, of San Francisco, California;
assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry Regiment, 5th Brigade, 2nd
Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Washington.

Army Spc. Jason M. Johnston, 24, of Albion, New York; assigned to the 2nd
Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team,
82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Marine Lance Cpl. Omar G. Roebuck, 23, of Moreno Valley, California;
assigned to 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine
Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
