What will the impact of this development be on our current businesses?  Would it be better to get them to build in Moscow (hwy 95 South Bypass?)?  Taxes would be paid in Idaho, infrastructure/services would be purely Moscow -without contract, and in return, they would have lower wage expenses.  Obviously, Moscow has buying power.  Otherwise they would want to build closer to Pullman.  We should use it to our advantage.  It seems to me that Whitman County is trying to bully us into agreeing to something that they know the city of Pullman wouldn't do.

It would give some jobs to local people while at the same time funneling 
much of the retail profit out of town. A few benefit by making 8$ an 
hour, everyone else sees their money sent out of the area. If you're 
upset about the Palouse Empire Mall that "prohibits local businesses 
from leasing there", wouldn't you also be upset about yet another 
mega-mall (YAMM) bringing in more chain stores? Or do you just want to 
stick it to the Palouse Empire Mall even if doing so doesn't help the 
problem?
