The New Mexico State University Aggie men's basketball team won the 
Western
Athletic Conference basketball championship Saturday night, defeating 
the
Utah State Aggies 72-70.  For more details about the Aggie victory in 
the

the
conference tournament, the Aggies receive the WAC's automatic bid to 
the
2007 NCAA Division I Basketball Championship. NCAA Tournament games 
will
begin next Thursday and Friday; the date, time, place and opponent for 
the
Aggies will be announced during the selection show on CBS at 4:00 p.m.

on Sunday afternoon.  Information about ticket availability and travel

Earlier in the day, the NMSU Aggies women's basketball team was 
defeated in
the championship final by the Boise State Broncos, 49-46.
