I would imagine that if there was a direct measurable economic benefit there would be less concern. Your second point of there being more deaths by cars is also true of deaths in Iraq vs car. Is that a reason to be less concerned there. People who loss livestock to wolves are compensated by the State or Federal Government. On a percentage basis this is not an extremely high figure. In terms of real dollars it is. I don't have those figures jet, but will post them when ido. In any case this is money that could be better spent of schools, heath care, etc.
