[Vision2020] Why I didn't vote for Brady......

Hi Gary,

While certainly not a statistically valid survey, I offer this 
observation as someone who is out at Winco shopping for my wife's 
restaurant at least three days a week: I have yet to see someone 
walking to the store or walking away with a grocery bag even though 
there are all those new/newish student apartment blocks within 200 
yards.

And that's 600,000 square foot for the proposed Hawkins development, 
if that was what you were referring to. For comparison in size that 
would be about 15 acres under roof or six of the current WalMarts  or 
three East City Parks. I applaud the developers proposal to use 
rainwater collection/treated effluent for outdoor landscape 
irrigation, but that still leaves their estimated 40 acre foot per 
year that has to be pumped (about 12.6 million gallons). As I've 
posted previously, the impact on water supply will be felt in Moscow, 
not Whitman County.
