All:
In doing a bit of Buffy Sainte-Marie research, I found this gem of a story.
Some of the content is probably true, other statements induce a highly
skeptical reaction, but nonetheless, some claims "ring true" given the
current culture wars over the war in Iraq relating to the music industry,
especially the Dixie Chicks. No wonder they received death threats! How
dare they hijack this "all-American music" to inject an anti-war message!
If Bob Dylan had spoke out as a critic on the war in Iraq, would the
reaction have been so intense? And if it is true that in the past there was
a coordinated effort to block Buffy Sainte-Marie's music from reaching the
public, how sad!:

"In his federal court affidavit, Schlund said he has knowledge of ''the
detailed plans for the break-up and destruction of rock n' roll music
including the assassinations of many people to achieve their goals. The
detailed plans to replace rock n' roll music with all-American music called
country western.''
''The assassinations started long before Vietnam but the plans to replace
rock n' roll with country western music started during the Vietnam War and
have continued to the present,'' Schlund stated to the court."
