[Vision2020] People of Courage

Visionatics,

The Mariners beat the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 4-1 on Friday night. Leading up to the game, the Angels had won 10 of their previous 16 games, whereas the Mariners had prevailed in 6 of last 8. Even with that, the M's were in last place in the division, half a game back of CAL/ANA/LAA. However, the Mariners were victorious. We can all now laugh at the Angels, the new AL West bottom-feeder.

Leading the climb out of the cellar was, unsuprisingly, Ichiro, who went 2-4 with a double, two stolen bases, and a run scored. Ibanez tacked on a solo shot in the 8th.

Ichiro is putting on a hitting clinic right now, and you are invited to attend. For the month of June, he is batting .568 (21 for 37). He is something special to watch. Don't deprive yourself of the chance to see the best hitter in baseball since Pete Rose; get to Safeco Field as soon as you can.

Take care,

D

Speaking of courage, did anyone happen to catch the goaline stand by
the Scottish in the Churchill Cup yesterday? Some truly amazing
tenacity was displayed as the English knocked on the door of the
try-zone for over 5 minutes. The Scotts just didn't let them put it
in.
Fine work.
Even more impressive though, had to be the 17 phase attack by the
Crusaders pack a couple weeks ago (against the Hurricanes?). Boy it
was something to see - poetry in motion. I think every pack should be
forced to watch and study that clip. Maybe the English should give it
a few watches before their next match in the Cup!
