Dear Taskforce Member,

As some of you are aware, Wal-Mart has applied for a banking charter in the
state of Utah. This is their fifth attempt to enter the banking industry.
If Wal-Mart’s banking charter is approved, it will allow the retail giant
to open branch banks in 20 states and the District of Columbia, devastating
small banks in communities across the country. 

This week Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan wrote a letter in
opposition to the regulatory loophole that allows corporations to own
banks, warning that it could create an “unlevel competitive playing field
