The Relationship of X – Y = 1

“How do I solve this problem?” she asked

“Add another y to both sides,” said he
Then x is equal to y plus one
But x is all alone.”

She smiled at him
“Funny how mathematics
Hormones and chromosomes
Will do that to you”
