[Vision2020] Unstable,
Doomed Model Cannot Protect Our Quality of Life

Yes Mr.. Hansen I agree that it is very curious. I may be the only one who
thinks this but to me there is a good probability that the negative impact
of this curious decision by Walmart will befall WalMart more than anyone
else. My instincts say that such a curious move (ie. stupid) is the
beginning of the end for WalMart's dominance. The more WalMart invests in
this curious move the worse their bottom line will be because as you imply
the market is just not there. It seems a natural fate of retailers to over
reach.
I would predict that once WalMart is secured in the Pullman location that
their interest in Moscow rapidly fades. I don't think they are stupid and I
don't believe that they can suck the life out of anything. I recently read
that they are turning more towards emulating Target and going more toward
the upscale market. Their market share is declining from what I read, not
growing. As Mr.. Harkin has pointed out in 2020, other retailers are very
capable of competing against WalMart.
A very curious and interesting event going on here.
