[Vision2020] Vandal Football & other stuff

Above is the list of 2006 newcomers for the Vandals.  None of the names on
the list registered as "thugs"-at least not to my knowledge.  I suspect that
U of I will not experience a coach with the loyalty of an Eddie Robinson
(Grambling), a Bobby Bowden (Florida State), a Paul "Bear" Bryant (Bama), or
an Ara Parseghian (Notre Dame)-men whose names became synonymous with the
schools they coached.  Unfortunately, we just aren't at that level of play
(or in the case of Grambling, just don't have as strong a legacy or
tradition, as it were).  But it is too bad we couldn't keep Erickson for at
least two years (at least from an economical standpoint).

In other topics: Since I don't have each address for each member of Vision
2020, let me wish you all a happy and safe holiday season. I will publish
some reminders later this week regarding travel during the holidays.  Take
care all.
