[Vision2020] Sarah Palin

Vandals and current/former Alaskans,

 

Sarah (Heath) Palin, UI class of '87, was sworn in at noon AST as the
11th governor of the State of Alaska in a very well attend ceremony in
Fairbanks.  She is the first female to serve as an Alaskan governor and
joins 8 other women throughout the US who are serving in their states'
executive position. 

 

She promised more state support for education, resource development,
improved native relations, a gas pipeline contract, better care of the
states fisheries, while keeping the budget in check.   The ceremony also
honored Alaskan Native veterans as well as paid tribute to the 172nd
Striker Brigade who has just returned from Iraq  (believe me it was
really nice seeing a lot of our friends at the inauguration who are now
home from Iraq).            

 

Nice to see a Vandal in charge!
