[Vision2020] Grain Exports

The total shipments on the system are 27,000,000 tons of grain.  Port of 
Lewiston ships, but so does Port of Clarkston, Port of Wilma, Port of 
Central Ferry and so on down through the Tri-Cities.  There is, as you 
mention, 3.9 mllion tons that heads all the way to Portland by rail and 
there is even more that heads directly into Seattle by rail, which adds to 
the total for export and brings the region closer yet to New Orlean's total 
for shipments.

One of the reasons that Lewiston does not ship more wheat is its lack of 
rail, but it also suffers in comparison to the Port of Wilma, since beyond 
Clarkston the channel is shallow and can not take the larger 50,000 ton 
barges.
