Moscow Civic Association Sponsors "Big Box" Forum

 

 

The Moscow Civic Association is sponsoring a free public forum entitled
"Thinking Outside the Big Box," about the community impact of retail mega-stores.  The forum, which will include a panel discussion and audience questions, is scheduled for Monday, October 24, at 7:00 pm at the 1912 Building in Moscow. 


The panel discussing big-box retailers includes:

Gabor M. Zovanyi, Professor of Urban and Regional Planning at Eastern Washington University; Deirdre Rogers, Assistant Professor of Justice Studies at the University of Idaho and a member of the Pullman Alliance for Responsible Development (PARD); Bob Greene, owner of BookPeople of Moscow and a former city planner; and Steve Peterson, an economist and a lecturer for the College of Business and Economics at UI.

Members of the audience will be encouraged to participate in the question and answer period which will follow brief presentations by the panelists. MCA board member Joseph Keim Campbell, associate professor of philosophy at WSU, will serve as moderator.

 

The Moscow Civic Association is a non-profit citizen's organization that strives to improve the quality of life for Moscow residents.
