[Vision2020] Dear Tim, are you sure you want full enforcement of the law?

If you looked at the crimes against nature site that I posted, you will see
that two gay couples were indeed found guilty of this 'crime' in 1996 and
the convictions were upheld.

As for the adultery chanrges, why would Bill Thompson have to go further
than the divorce proceedings to hit people with it. Looked at how many
people cite adultery in their Divorces.

The fact is that we have laws on the books that make absolutely no sense.
We do not enforce a lot of our laws because they are simply silly
considering the age in which we live. Politcally its not important to many
to take them off the books because we do not enforce them, but overzealous
folks can and you noted at least one instance where such was attempted. Its
also only 9 years since four gays went to jail last, so its quite possible
that somebody will act once again.

So should the four guys convicted in 1996 be freed since we are not
uniformly enforcing that law? Should people who were convicted for nothing
more than consentual adult gay sex be listed on the sexual offenders lists?

Because as far as I am concerned what we need to do is remove the stupid
statutes from our books and pass new law that takes the state out of
consenting adults bedrooms and lifts the vile listing of consentual acts in
sexual offenders lists. I do not want uniform enforcement of this set of
statutes or a number of other equally poorly written laws, I would rather
see them changed.

And by the by, I seek those changes even though I have not done any of the
three offenses. Bad law is bad law and we need to sweep those from our
books.
