[Vision2020] Due Tribute

First of all, it's hardly strange that the group that forwarded the proposal
to Dr. Donicht, who then recommended it to the board, which then voted
unanimously to approve it, would work for its passage.

Second, I don't recall ever attacking the religious views of anyone in the
24 years I myself have been a religious person. Perhaps you mean that I
have publicly stated that Christ Church folks would not support a public
school bond for $29, much less $29 million, because of their religious and
social beliefs. That's true. I believe the honest Kirker would tell you
that as well and feel perfectly comfortable in defending it. How that's an
attack is beyond me.

Third, as far as attacks on the press, there are two things you should know.
One, I have made my living as a print journalist, third generation -- I
know journalism. Second, and much more important, I am able to separate my
fondness for some journalists from disappointment at their paper's coverage.

Believe me, Donovan, if I ever go on the attack, there won't be any doubt
whatsoever. And for that reason, I choose not to.

Keely,

I find it hypocritical that you have the ability to
talk about respect when the FPC sat there in the April
meeting and attacked the personal character of Phil
Roderick and the religious beliefs of another man that
wrote a letter to the editor against the bond. Phil's
character and the religious faith of someone writing a
letter to the editor should not be challenged in a
public meeting because they raised questions about the
bond. Not to mention the attacks made on the members
of the press.

Your entire meeting on that day has a planning
discussion on how to get the bond passed. That is not
unbiased.

Take Care,

Donovan J Arnold
