[Vision2020] University to charge 2.5 percent fee to credit cardscharges

The UI is not alone in this charge. I'm no economic brainiac, but I
believe every little scanner the UI has for reading credit cards comes
with a fee of sorts. Now, maybe in the past the fee was not a major
hindrance, but with more prevalent use, maybe the charges are becoming
more and more, so they feel the cost needs to be passed on. Some small
businesses have said card readers, and they pass the surcharge on to a
customer using a credit card, while larger businesses don't. Granted,
the UI is not a small business by any means, but they are looking
wherever they can to cut their costs, such as shoveling half a stairway
during winter . . .

Maybe this will make students be more fiscally responsible with credit
card purchases. Another life teaching tool!

Lookin' at the sunny side,
