I appreciate Michael's response. As for G. Crabtree, I have told many
others and now I tell you: don't try to teach your grandmother to suck
eggs. I'm sure it's the case that Doug Wilson is *not* interested in
my solutions; he has only ever displayed an interest in his own
solutions. Quelle surprise. But I don't really offer these
zoning/usage suggestions for Mr. Wilson's edification. I offered this
one as an example to City Council of an alternative (and legal) use for
the Skattaboe Building. Some seem to be under the impression that if
NSA cannot be housed in the Skattaboe, then the building must be razed
to the ground. This is nonsense, and it is not what I would hope for
or want. I happen to find the building -- and its NSA renovations --
beautiful. I just agree with EXISTING CITY CODE that educational
institutions do not belong downtown. Period. No arm-waving. No
panic. No need to tear up our comprehensive plan to "save" NSA. The
college is in no danger; it's just in the wrong location. Yosela
bubela, so move it, already!

Just for the record, as long as the solution to NSA's zoning problem
doesn't involve the decimation of downtown retail, I don't really care
what Doug does with his building. Personally, I'm hoping he'll turn
the place into an Olive Garden. I love their breadsticks.
