I agree with your analysis, Janesta.

Perhaps law enforcement should either establish a system of house arrest 
which cannot be compromised (so easily) and can be monitored 24/7, or 
eliminate "house arrest" altogether and NOT release those who would 
otherwise be eligible for house arrest.  I feel that measures must be taken 
to eliminate the potential for flight from prosecution.

It really disturbs me that these bracelets can (as you suggest) be so easily 
removed.  It appears that it is easier to remove the bracelet while under 
house arrest than it is to remove the restraining device from a car that has 
been "booted".
