Yes it was, and I am glad I did, because it gives me a chance to explain
where your thinking is in error.

First, rolling over and playing dead when ever there is discrimination is
wrong no matter what positive outcomes you may think there are, and that is
exactly the attitude that has allowed hatred, bigotry and stereotyping to
last for so long in this country. I never said don't give blood. I simply
asked a question as to not waste the time and energies of good people
willing to take time off of work or out of their day to do something good
for someone.

Second, you are incorrect about the health screening. The system
discriminates against people, particularly gays and bi-sexuals, even when
they have 100% clean life saving blood.

Third, this discrimination does hurt gay people, it hurts all people, when
they are turned down for blood donations because there is a shortage of
blood because of an archaic policy.

And you are talking to someone who has a scars on each arm from donated
plasma and blood for years.

It is time the discrimination stops. People are getting hurt, even dying
because of this policy when they don't get the good clean lifesaving blood
they need.

If saying something against discrimination that is destructive to the
community makes me create of "cesspool of spite" then that is fine, I will
create more cesspools of spite by bringing up more discriminating policies
in the community as they come up.

Take Care,

Donovan J Arnold
