A few days after a terrorist attack in Spain the party in power was ousted. A
Socialist Government is taking its place winning 47% of the vote to the
ousted Populist Party that got only about 37% of the vote. I am wondering what
everyone thinks about this and if it is a sign of things to come in the Western
World's Democratic Elections, including our own.

I for one think it reminded people about the threat of the Terrorists and how
they have not been "dealt with" properly. Osama is still on the lose, and
more likely to die of his kidney problem than a US bomb. Even if he was caught
yesterday it has been years since the attack, thus not soon enough. I for one
expected the Bush Administration to commit tons of resources to going after Bin
Laudin and would have ripped apart Afghanistan to get to him. But instead the
current Administration is spending most the time, money, and military efforts
in Iraq.

Keep in mind, that although the Spanish Government (former) and the British
Government supported the Bush Administration in the Iraqi War, about 60-90% of
the people in those countries oppose the war. In the USA, only about 50% of
people support the war, I will not get into France, Germany, Russia, India, and
China which make most the rest of world.

So what do you think about the election results in Spain? Penny for your
thoughts.
