I would note, Mr. "Stile", that this quote comes from the text of "A Bill for Establishing Religious Freedom" -- the document that, by and large, codified the wall of separation between church and state. In future, when defending a theocratic church-state, one might prefer that you actually use documents that actually support your position. Hope that helps.

<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Bill, et al,
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Perhaps your argument would be a little stronger if we were not talking were
<DIV></DIV>&gt;not about a school which is shaping young citizens of our community.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Suppose there was a school called Ecstasy.&nbsp;&nbsp;Suppose rumors were that this
<DIV></DIV>&gt;school taught young men and women how to pursue a profitable career in drug
<DIV></DIV>&gt;dealing or prostitution.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Would not the community have an interest in what is going on at that school?
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Would non-responses to questions from concerned citizens from the school
<DIV></DIV>&gt;headmaster create further rumors and distrust?
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Logos school has been accused of teaching sexist, homophobic,
<DIV></DIV>&gt;neo-confederate, and many other doctrines that are probably as repugnant as
<DIV></DIV>&gt;drug dealing and prostitution to the majority of Palouse region citizens.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Naturally people want to know the facts.&nbsp;&nbsp;An open society thrives on
<DIV></DIV>&gt;critical examination of ideas.&nbsp;&nbsp;If Logos is indoctrinating children with the
<DIV></DIV>&gt;doctrines mentioned above, people have a right to be concerned.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;If Logos is ashamed or embarrassed by what they are doing, then they won't
<DIV></DIV>&gt;answer the concerns expressed by Rose Huskey which are shared by many
<DIV></DIV>&gt;people.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;If Logos thinks their doctrines are correct, then the facts should be
<DIV></DIV>&gt;offered.&nbsp;&nbsp;If the doctrines are correct, then these doctrines should be able
<DIV></DIV>&gt;to stand the test of critical examination.&nbsp;&nbsp;If the doctrines are not correct
<DIV></DIV>&gt;and Logos is unable to successfully defend them, then the community has
<DIV></DIV>&gt;choices to make.

<DIV></DIV>&gt;Garfield to respond
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ms. Huskey,
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;&nbsp;&nbsp; I must admit I've have always had a problem with the
<DIV></DIV>&gt;"if-you-have-nothing-to-hide-why-don't-you-tell-us" approach. Many of the
<DIV></DIV>&gt;questions you asked are the business of Logos school and the people who
<DIV></DIV>&gt;enroll their children there. If Mr. Garfield declines to answer, are we then
<DIV></DIV>&gt;going to respond with a "Well, what are you hiding"?
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;&nbsp;&nbsp; When I was co-owner of Pacific Simulation I would be asked questions like
<DIV></DIV>&gt;"are female engineers paid the same as their male co-workers"? If I'm not
<DIV></DIV>&gt;willing to discuss this with people outside the company, does this mean I'm
<DIV></DIV>&gt;hiding something? Since when is full disclosure equated with ethical
<DIV></DIV>&gt;practices? As long as I followed federal guidelines, these things are simply
<DIV></DIV>&gt;not the concern of people outside the organization. If I wanted to keep
<DIV></DIV>&gt;quality people, I would pay them well and treat them fairly. So was I hiding
<DIV></DIV>&gt;something? Sorry - that's our concern, not anyone else's.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;&nbsp;&nbsp; Every question you asked would be things I would also ask if I was
<DIV></DIV>&gt;considering having my children attend Logos. However, my three daughters
<DIV></DIV>&gt;attend MSD where they receive what I consider to be a quality education. I
<DIV></DIV>&gt;think that contacting Mr. Garfield as has been suggested is a good idea. But
<DIV></DIV>&gt;if he chooses not to respond, it just means that Logos prefers their
<DIV></DIV>&gt;privacy. I do hope he answers as I am interested in what he would say. But I
<DIV></DIV>&gt;won't draw any conclusions about Logos if he doesn't reply.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;&nbsp;&nbsp; When my teenage daughter prefers her bedroom door to be closed when she is
<DIV></DIV>&gt;chatting with her friends, this doesn't mean she is doing anything illegal,
<DIV></DIV>&gt;immoral or discourteous. It just means she likes her privacy.
