So since I am pro-education, I am pro money for schools. I think this is
pretty obvious.

Think again. I am strongly pro-education, which is why I am so
astonished and disgusted at what the schools have become. (See my
previous Vision2020 postings for details.)

When our schools stop penalizing success and stop rewarding failure, they
will have made a seismic shift toward redeeming themselves. Until then,
I see little reason to encourage the idiotic policies promulgated under
the guise of "benefiting the children."

Many books and articles have been written about this, but my favorite
remains Philip K. Howard's The Death of Common Sense (1994). It deals
with larger issues, but the section on education is truly sobering.
