The Next Moscow Civic Association Meeting is Party with a Purpose

The February meeting of the Moscow Civic Association will include a
short presentation on the state-mandated educational testing program in
Idaho schools, followed by a party open to everyone, with a potluck
meal, no-host beverages, live music and dance. This free public
get-together will be held on Monday, February 10, at 7pm at the 1912
Building in Moscow.
The music for the party will be provided by “Steptoe,” a lively
Moscow-based folk trio that plays danceable up-beat tunes. According to
Lois Blackburn, association president, the purpose of the party is to
encourage association members and community members to meet and mingle
and have fun.
Members are encouraged to bring potluck snacks to share at the
party. A no-host bar, offering beer, wine and soft drinks, will be open
during the party.
During the meeting that will precede the party, Cynthia Bechinski,
curriculum director for the Moscow School District will discuss Idaho’s
newly-mandated student tests that will be required for graduation from
high school. Bechinski will focus on the impact on Moscow students and
schools.
