My memory is that GENERAL Colin Powell, Schwartzkopf's boss, was the main 
proponent of stopping when we did.  We had reached our objective; throwing 
Iraq out of Kuwait.  The objective then was not the overthrow of Sadam but 
freeing Kuwait.  Objective acheived, we stopped.
