There is an interesting book titled, "Eternal Hostility: The Struggle
Between Theocracy and Democracy" which has a major section devoted to
Christian Reconstructionists. Most of the book actually. It is by
Frederick Clarkson, Common Courage Press. You can purchase it at
www.amazon.com .

There were two interesting things in the book.

1. The Christian Reconstructionists run stealth campaigns. They run
campaigns talking about taxes and general conservative programs and not
their full agenda, and take over local party organizations. After the
election the full agenda comes out. It is also very disruptive to the
local party organization.

Clarkson has the whole history of the "San Diego Surprise" in which
Christian Reconstructionists ran a stealth campaign and got into
government.

2. The Christian Reconstructionists criticize public education from many
different angles, but the real agenda is to end public education. They
can't necessarily do it directly, so the agenda then becomes to wreck
the public school system by supporting policies that undermind it. So
the talk might be taxes but the real agenda would be bankrupting the
system.

I recommend purchasing this book.
