I agree with you, it is sad. I think it goes back to the mindset of the =
summer celebrations. Prior to having three or four communities having =
their celebrations on the same weekend, they would be on different =
weekends. Consequently, a large contingent of drinkers would go to Troy, =
Potlatch, or wherever, and get out of control drunk. Now they crowd is =
split up between the towns, leaving less temptation for those who like =
to drink and tussle. (I am dating myself with these memories! *L*)
I think at Christmas, with the inclement weather, an exception could be =
made. I LOVE to go to as many Christmas celebrations as possible. =
However, I am not going to rush from one place to the next. Perhaps next =
year, a little better planning can spread things out a little.
Is there a committee made up of people who plan for the rest of us? I =
notice many times, it is feast or famine with regard to activities going =
on in the community

Potlatch has had theirs for the past eight years. It really hurts the =
small towns when Moscow decides to overwrite what they have done and =
take away from it.
People could, however, make it both parades if they wanted since =
Potlatch is at 5 p.m. and Moscow at 7 p.m. Might be a rush and you'd =
miss out on other festivities going on in Potlatch in conjunction.
