[Vision2020] Parade Route

Potlatch has had theirs for 8 years on this date (second saturday of
December). Not too hard for Moscow folks to to know that if they pay
attention. The same thing happened last year and Moscow opted to change
their date. Not sure why not this year. With the hub bub last year, that
should have been in a few memories.

I agree with you, it is sad. I think it goes back to the mindset of the
summer celebrations. Prior to having three or four communities having their
celebrations on the same weekend, they would be on different weekends.
Consequently, a large contingent of drinkers would go to Troy, Potlatch, or
wherever, and get out of control drunk. Now they crowd is split up between
the towns, leaving less temptation for those who like to drink and tussle.
(I am dating myself with these memories! *L*)
I think at Christmas, with the inclement weather, an exception could be
made. I LOVE to go to as many Christmas celebrations as possible. However, I
am not going to rush from one place to the next. Perhaps next year, a little
better planning can spread things out a little.
Is there a committee made up of people who plan for the rest of us? I
notice many times, it is feast or famine with regard to activities going on
in the community

It is sad that Moscow planned their lighted parade on the same day as
Potlatch has had theirs for the past eight years. It really hurts the small
towns when Moscow decides to overwrite what they have done and take away
from it.
People could, however, make it both parades if they wanted since
Potlatch is at 5 p.m. and Moscow at 7 p.m. Might be a rush and you'd miss
out on other festivities going on in Potlatch in conjunction.
