[Vision2020] Smoke North Of Moscow too.

I heard through the grapevine (Vision2020 private mail) that the fire off
Highway 8 was a controlled burn that got out of control.

I observed it for a while. There was a helicopter or two dumping water on a
stand of trees, and lots of water rigs headed out that way, with volunteers
in hot persuit.

What I am wondering, is why are controlled burns going on in this dry, hot
heat?
