Dear Parents,

Every year, at the end of final awards assembly at MJHS, the Ninth Grade
class is celebrated with a reception, Ninth grade parents and friends,
assisted by the parent group, provide cake and decorations. This year's
assembly will take place on the afternoon of May 29th . We are looking for
one to three Ninth Grade Parents who are willing to coordinate the event.
This will involve putting out a call for volunteers and donations and
helping to organize on the 29th. It should not be too difficult or time
consuming; we already have some funds and parent volunteers who have offered
to help. If you are the parent of a ninth grader and would like to
volunteer some time to give the great class a great send-off, we would love
to hear from you. Please contact peggy at jenkinsresearch.com.

Mr. Kleinert thought you would also like to know about the following event,
which is being coordinated by long-time MSD Science teacher Kathy Dawes:

The Palouse Discovery Science Center (PDSC) will be hosting a special
NanoDays event for families this Saturday, April 11.

This event is part of an annual nationwide nationwide festival of
educational programs about nanoscale science and engineering and its
potential impact on the future. NanoDays is the largest public outreach
effort in nanoscale informal science education organized by the Nanoscale
Informal Science Education Network (NISE Net) and is taking place at over
200 science museums, research centers, and universities across the country.
NanoDays activities bring university researchers together with science
museum educators to create unique new learning experiences for both children
and adults to explore the miniscule world of atoms, molecules, and nanoscale
forces. The PDSC is fortunate to be able to provide over 20 of these
hands-on activities for the public on Saturday from 10am-3pm.
