Dear Parents,
The first day of the last quarter of the 09-10 school year started
today. We are in the process of printing Report Cards, finalizing the
3rd quarter edition of the "Cub Communicator", and getting the entire
packet ready to mail to you. You should receive this mailing by the end
of the week. Please contact us if this information doesn't arrive in
your mailbox. The Cub Communicator and this letter will also be
avilable on the MJHS website later today.
If your son or daughter needs to miss school for any reason, please call
our attendance line at 892-1177 as soon as you know of an upcoming
absence. This line is open for messages 24 hours a day for your
convenience. We will be paying close attention to attendance as the
days get warmer. It seems like nice weather and "truancies" go hand in
hand and we would like to be as pro-active as possible to make sure
students are where they are supposed to be at all times.
Some recent emails on the MJHS Parent-Support Team Listserve with
various opinions have been sent back and forth to all of the members.
When the Listserve was first implemented, the parents who developed this
wonderful means of communication wanted a way for the school to keep
parents informed about their children's activities. It has been an
outstanding way for us to enhance parent involvement in all types of
school activities when our children need it the most. As our parent
group leader stated in an earlier email, we owe it to our parents who
need activities information to use the Listserve as such. This
Listserve just won't work if people don't use it for its intended use,
and off-subject, opinions, or "spam" type emails are moderated by the
parent volunteer who helps with our subscriptions. This communication
venue is not read or used by District Administration or the Board of
Trustees of the Moscow School District unless they happen to be a parent
of an MJHS student and have subscribed as a parent. Individuals who
would like to discuss issues outside of the parameters of the MJHS
Listserve should contact the District Administration, attend meetings of
the School Board, or contact your School Board representative.
Even though we just completed the 9th grade dance, our spring all school
dance is rapidly approaching. It will be held on Friday, April 24th
from 6-8 p.m., and we would like to invite any parents who are available
to chaperone. We will need approximately twelve parents and if you can
help, please contact Kevin Hill at MJHS.
Our Moscow School District Future Problem Solvers won many awards at the
State Competition this past weekend. Research and problem solving
efforts were focused on the topic of Counterfeit Economy. We are very
proud of all of these students! Every one of them took preparation and
competition seriously and yet were well-behaved and fun throughout the
trip! The first place winners will attend the International Conference
in East Lansing, Michigan, May 27-31. The topic will be Pandemic.
Watch for our next annoucement of fund-raising efforts!

As always, we appreciate everything all of our parents do to stay
involved at all levels. Whether it be helping in the classroom,
chaperoning, providing input, or assisting behind the scenes, we
couldn't do it without our parents. Please feel free to contact me to
visit about any issues, problems, or questions that you may have.
Sincerely,
Dale Kleinert, Principal
Moscow Junior High School
